It Doesn’t NOT Work: the outer limits of pure surf design
Experimental surf craft from New York and New Jersey
    AND Boardswap
    May 3-4 2014
    Picture Farm Gallery, Brooklyn
Hosted by Imaginary Surf Co and SMASH Productions
A surfcraft design show featuring surreal to sublime shapes by East Coast subterranean board builders.  Function is purely subjective when fun is the ultimate goal. Display your failed concepts and accidental discoveries. “It Doesn’t NOT Work” seeks to lift up the hood on surfboard experimentation and design. Boards that are proven to work!! Boards that are proven to NOT work!!
“It Doesn’t NOT Work” will include a boardswap, film screening, prizes and beer!
    ………..
Calling all backyard shapers, pro board builders, and mad surf scientists on the Right Coast!  We are looking for submissions of experimental surf craft for the first show of this kind.
Send us your designs. Submissions be of an original shape or a unique construction that you have built yourself.  Extra points if you’ve built more than one and have revised the design.
Submissions should be emailed to: itdoesntnotwork@gmail.com no later than April 15th, 2014. Please send images of each entry and please be sure to include a description of the design.

Hosted by Picture Farm Gallery located at 338 Wythe in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. Go!

Surely there is a place for machine made surfboards. There is also something special about a board that's one of a kind. Like the waves we ride, when it breaks you will never have it again. But in that there is something beautiful. It opens the door to a different but no less magical experience.

This is not an attempt to combat the automation of surfing, only a modest effort to support shapers around the world; a movement to preserve the craft of building surfboards...
